Saddle II

A rare pre-1985 original vintage print produced in limited numbers from a series of transparencies that Newton considered his most provocative and important work through 1985.

Description

Newton shot this now seminal work after noticing the display cases in the Faubourg Saint-Honoré windows of Hermès. Dressed with finely crafted saddles, harnesses and bridles set next to more ephemeral fashions, Newton was to incorporate these juxtapositions and ironies in this witty, kinky and absurd series of images. Enclosed within the privacy of the domestic scene, ‘Saddle II’ affords us and glimpse into the forbidden world of fantasy and sexual corruption as told through the paged of Vogue Hommes.

I find myself, after all these years, with a built-in safety-brake that stops me from doing certain things. And one of the reasons why I want to try so called hard pornography - I don't even know whether it's hard enough - is to see whether I will be able to overcome this. Because if there is one thing I hate, it's good taste, to me it's a dirty word.
